This year, Breast Cancer Action Quebec celebrates our 30th anniversary! 30 years of breast cancer prevention activism, of fighting toxics and of asking the tough questions.

In our usual fashion, we will hold an important round table discussion with guests whose work involves asking critical questions of the breast cancer movement. This will be followed by a jazz concert with Laura Anglade.

But it won’t be a celebration if you are not there. So, join us!

Thursday December 9

7 pm to 8:30 pm: Round table

Guests will speak about advances in scientific research related to breast cancer, toxics and environmental racism, reflections on the philanthropic pink ribbon movement and its evolution since the release of the film Pink Ribbons Inc. 10 years ago, and the construction of a cis and heteronormative breast cancer culture.

If you haven’t seen Pink Ribbons Inc. or want to watch it again, we will send a link to stream the film for free from the National Film Board to everyone who registers for the event.

8:45 pm to 9:15 pm: Jazz concert

As a special anniversary present, jazz singer Laura Anglade is offering us a virtual jazz concert!  Laura is an exciting young artist that Radio Canada’s Ici Musique named as one of the top five women jazz singers to watch out for.

Join us for this big anniversary bash! You make Breast Cancer Action Quebec what it is! Let’s celebrate together!
