Learn more about our programs
At Breast Cancer Action Quebec, we develop innovative programs to inform, mobilize, and advocate for the right to health from a feminist and intersectional perspective. We place environmental health and environmental justice at the heart of our actions by raising awareness about the links between the environment and breast cancer, denouncing health inequalities, and demanding systemic changes for a fairer and healthier future for everyone.
Our initiatives cover several areas:
- Popular Education – Workshops, webinars, and conferences to better understand the environmental risks linked to breast cancer and endocrine disruptors.
- Advocacy and Mobilization – Awareness campaigns and collective and political actions to demand stronger public policies regarding health and environmental protection.
- Research and Documentation – Analyses and resources to equip individuals and decision-makers.
- Support and Community Engagement – Creating spaces for exchange and solidarity to strengthen the voices of those affected.
Among our programs and projects, we are working on:
- Breast Cancer and Immigrant and Racialized Women – Raising awareness about health inequalities and the impacts of environmental factors from an intersectional perspective.
- Reform of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act – Advocating for a stronger law to protect against toxic substances and endocrine disruptors.
- Youth Program – Engaging young people in the fight for environmental justice and the prevention of preventable cancers.
- Costs of Illness– Research and awareness-raising on the financial and human costs of breast cancer.
- Stopping Our Plastic Disaster – Highlighting the link between plastics, health, and environmental justice to demand concrete action.
